Responding to popular demand from modellers, Accurascale has partnered with Rails of Sheffield to produce a highly detailed 4-car Electrostar EMU model.
Following the enthusiasm within the hobby community for modern, high-quality electric multiple units, the companies have announced plans to develop the “ultimate” Electrostar. This ambitious project addresses a noticeable gap in the market, specifically the limited availability of ready-to-run models of four-car EMUs.
The Electrostar family encompasses numerous variations, posing a significant technical and tooling challenge due to the variety and complexity of the fleet. Initially, the models will focus on the Electrostar variants, including Class 375, 377, 379, and 387, with the potential for additional versions depending on initial demand.
Accurascale is employing state-of-the-art technology, including detailed laser scanning and extensive engineering research, to ensure accuracy and realism. The models will include advanced features such as DCC-operated pantographs, motorised axles, helical gearing, fully directional lighting, detailed interiors, and multiple speaker setups for sound-equipped units.
Expressions of interest are now being accepted through both the Accurascale and Rails of Sheffield websites. Interested modellers can secure their place with a refundable reservation deposit, which will be deducted from the total price upon confirmation of the project’s production.
Full specification details, pricing information, and pre-order options are available at the Accurascale and Rails of Sheffield websites.
