About the Role
As a Sales Station Host (GPR), you will be responsible for covering unallocated shifts across stations within the Northern Area. You will be notified four days in advance of the following week’s station allocation and shift pattern. This is a varied role where you will play a key part in delivering outstanding customer service, maintaining station presentation, and promoting our range of rail products.
Key Responsibilities

Provide a welcoming and professional service to all customers.

Undertake the sale of all Chiltern Railways and National Rail products and services via ticket issuing systems.

Maintain high standards of customer care inside and outside the booking office.

Manage and operate ticket gates where applicable.

Supplement automated announcements with live updates to ensure passengers are well-informed.

Act as the point of contact for car park issues in the absence of an attendant.

Accurately complete all financial and ticketing documentation in line with company procedures.

Keep up to date with company notices, instructions, and circulars.

Maintain stock of leaflets, posters, and self-service ticket systems.

Issue authorised refunds and process cash handling duties.

Ensure the ticket office, station, and car park are kept clean and presentable at all times.

Assist with winter weather treatment as required.

Represent Chiltern Railways professionally by adhering to the uniform wearers guide.
What We’re Looking For
Essential Criteria:

GCSEs (A-C) in English and Maths.

Previous customer service and cash handling experience.

Computer literacy with strong keyboard skills.
-
Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
-
Ability to stay calm and professional under pressure.

Strong decision-making and problem-solving skills.

Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Flexibility to work at various stations in the Northern Area.

Smart and presentable appearance.
Desirable Criteria:

Good geographical knowledge.

First aid training.

Knowledge of railway operations.

Strong attention to detail.
