Eversholt Rail has announced sponsorship of school visits to the Railway 200 event at the Bluebell Railway in Sussex. This major event, running from June to September, celebrates the railway’s history and its future role in a net-zero Britain.
Approximately 18,000 pupils from London and the South East are expected to attend over fifteen dedicated school days. Students will explore railway history, STEM subjects related to rail, rail safety, and career opportunities within the industry. They will also have the chance to see a variety of historical and contemporary railway vehicles, including working steam locomotives.
Jon Beardmore, Business Development Manager at Bluebell Railway, said: “Eversholt Rail’s generous sponsorship allows us to offer schools heavily subsidised entry, making this educational experience more accessible for thousands of children.”
Mary Kenny, CEO of Eversholt Rail, added: “We’re excited to support Bluebell Railway in inspiring the next generation about careers in rail, aligning perfectly with our commitment to fostering industry engagement.”
Schools interested in attending can email Railway200event@bluebell-railway.com for further information.
